Ashley Nichole
Hello world,
I’m not completely sure how this whole blogging thing works, but I’m going to give it a shot.
To start off, my name is Ashley. I am 22 years old, and moving towards my fifth year of college (premed can be kinda tough eh?) I am aspiring to become a doctor someday… feel free to ask me what kind and I’ll tell you that I haven’t a clue yet. I’m young, and I have all the time in the world to figure it out.
I have an obsession with letting out my creativity in various forms. I write, I draw, I paint, I sing, but mostly I photograph and travel.
To travel is to open one’s mind to the craziness and beauty of the world’s ideas, nature, and language… and I am lucky to have experienced more than many other people my age have. I’ve been to Canada, Mexico, Bahamas, France, England, Ireland, Wales and multiple places in the good ol’ U.S. of A. While I am attracted to the beauty of my home country, I am more attracted to the way others live their lives and mostly the way they speak around the world. Language has a special place in my heart because I find beauty and perfection within it. As of right now, I obviously speak English, but I can also speak a great deal of French, and I’m learning a bit of Spanish. Hopefully, within my lifetime I will be able to master these languages along with a few more that I am interested in such as Japanese, Arabic, or German. I guess I started my journey in photography when I first began my travels. In England, I became obsessed with color as England has a great deal of it within their gardens. In Ireland, it was Glendalough that really caught my eye. The imperfections were perfect within the age of its ruins. In France, architecture was the most prominent aspect there, along with the perfect scenery of Monmarte. I never really thought much of my photography (only taking photos to remind me of my journeys) until I met a spectacular someone who inspired me to think highly of it. For that inspiration, I give thanks to Amir :) No one has motivated me more than he has.
Writing has been something I have always loved. I mostly write poetry, but over the past couple years I have moved on to a children’s book and a few ideas for some fun novels! My muse comes around every so often so it has taken me awhile to even begin these works, except for poetry. For some reason, I can write a poem within seconds. Mostly humor if they’re that quick, but I have written about my close friend, love, death and places (figuratively) that I have been to in my life.
I have finally begun to find my place in this world. I’ve been through a lot in my life, but it truly has made me a better person. I’ve made mistakes (who hasn’t?) but I don’t regret anything I’ve done, and I truly don’t believe that anyone should. I’m grateful for the life that I am living right now, and feel horrible for those who aren’t. I see many people who (considerably so) are stuck in the past, and it truly is no way to live. ”God” (whoever he/she may be-that’s a whole other post) made it so that time moves forward, so whatever pains are in the past are there for a reason, to shape the person you will become in the future. Move forward, because whether you are stuck or not, time will, and you will be wasting it. Life is short, which is why I try to live mine to the fullest (i know, very cliche) every day. Feel free (actually, I urge you!) to follow my blog. I will follow back if I find you interesting, but I’ve seen some crazies out there through other websites and I truly just don’t find crazy (in a bad way) intriguing at all. If you have questions or comments, feel free to do either. :)
